Chief Technology Officer — International Aerospace Group

JOlivier & Partners has been retained to identify a Chief Technology Officer for an international industrial group operating in the aerospace sector, with a strong global footprint and ambitious growth plans.

Based in France and reporting to Group General Management, the CTO will lead engineering and R&D worldwide and sit at the core of a transformation programme centred on innovation, operational excellence and sustainable development.

The Role

The CTO will align today’s industrial performance with the Group’s long-term technology strategy, structuring a cohesive international engineering organisation and building the innovation roadmap that will support the next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the global engineering and R&D strategy.
• Lead and structure a cohesive international engineering organisation.
• Harmonise industrial and engineering processes across sites worldwide.
• Develop centres of excellence and strengthen technical expertise.
• Drive industrial optimisation, standardisation and scalability.
• Lead digitalisation, automation and the deployment of AI solutions.
• Build and deliver a long-term technology and innovation roadmap.
• Anticipate industry trends, including advanced materials, energy and new processes.
• Engage at senior level with key industrial partners and strategic clients.
• Support business growth and operational performance globally.

Candidate Profile

• Senior leadership experience as CTO, Head of Engineering or R&D Director within an international industrial group.
• Strong exposure to aerospace or another highly demanding industry (defence, energy, automotive).
• Proven track record leading industrial and digital transformation.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary, multi-site teams across geographies.
• Strategic vision combined with strong execution discipline.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with executive committees, partners and clients.
• Fluent French and English.

Compensation
