General Manager - Spanish Plant | Italian Packaging Group

Our client is part of a leading Italian industrial group with an established manufacturing operation in Spain and a strong position in the industrial packaging sector.

The company combines a solid industrial platform with significant opportunities for further commercial development, operational improvement and market expansion. As part of its next phase of growth, the Group is seeking to appoint a General Manager to lead the Spanish business with full responsibility for strategy, performance and organizational development.

Reporting to Group leadership, the General Manager will assume full responsibility for the Spanish operation and will lead the business through its next stage of development.

Key responsibilities include:

- Define and execute the company's strategic and growth agenda.

- Assume full P&L responsibility and drive sustainable revenue and profitability growth.

- Lead commercial development across existing and new markets.

- Strengthen key customer relationships and develop strategic partnerships.

- Lead, develop and reinforce the local management team.

- Ensure operational excellence across the manufacturing operation.

- Drive continuous improvement in processes, performance and organizational effectiveness.

- Strengthen governance, management systems and internal accountability.

- Build organizational capabilities and succession plans to support long-term growth.

- Act as the senior representative of the company with customers, partners and relevant stakeholders.

- Maintain close alignment with the Group and contribute to broader strategic initiatives.

The successful candidate will be an experienced General Manager, Managing Director or senior business leader with full accountability for business performance.

The ideal profile will combine strong commercial leadership with operational discipline and the ability to manage both strategic priorities and day-to-day business execution.

Key requirements include:

- Proven experience leading a business with full P&L responsibility.

- Strong track record in commercial development, market expansion and profitable growth.

- Experience within industrial B2B, manufacturing or related sectors; exposure to packaging or adjacent industries will be considered an advantage.

- Hands-on leadership style, with the ability to operate effectively in a mid-sized industrial environment.

- Strong people leadership capabilities and experience developing management teams.

- Demonstrated ability to strengthen processes, governance, performance management and organizational structures.

- Entrepreneurial mindset combined with disciplined execution.

- Strong customer orientation and ability to manage senior-level commercial relationships.

- International outlook and experience working within a group environment.

- Willingness to maintain a regular presence at the production site and remain closely connected to the operations and the local management team.
