Managing Director – Packaging

The Organisation & Context

Our client is a pan-European packaging group with manufacturing operations across multiple countries. The Italian business is a significant contributor to group revenue and is positioned for growth through both organic expansion and operational improvement. The incoming MD will inherit a strong operational base and a clear mandate to accelerate performance.

Key Responsibilities

• — Lead all aspects of the Italian business: manufacturing, commercial, finance and HR
• — Drive revenue growth through key account development and new business acquisition
• — Optimise manufacturing efficiency, quality and cost across Italian plants
• — Build and lead a cohesive senior leadership team
• — Manage relationships with key customers, suppliers and institutional stakeholders
• — Work closely with Group leadership on strategy, capital allocation and integration

Candidate Profile

• — Proven Managing Director or Country Manager experience in packaging, FMCG or industrial manufacturing
• — Track record in managing manufacturing-led businesses with direct P&L responsibility
• — Strong commercial instinct and experience managing large customer relationships
• — Fluent in Italian and English; additional European languages an advantage
• — Comfortable operating within a matrix structure reporting to international Group leadership
